The purpose of the National Federation of the Blind of Kentucky is to advance the general welfare of the blind of Kentucky and the nation. We function as an integral part of the National Federation of the Blind.
Serving as a vehicle for collective action by the blind of Kentucky, we operate as a mechanism through which the blind and can come together in local chapters and state meetings to plan and carry out programs to improve the quality of life of the blind.
We provide a means of collective action for parents of blind children and forward the interests of blind students and provide them with a means of joint action and expression.
The NFBK also promotes the vocational, cultural, and social advancement of the blind.
We are dedicated to achieve the integration of the blind into society on a basis of equality with the sighted, and to take any other action which will improve the overall condition and standard of living of the blind.
If you are interested in joining us as a member of the National Federation of the Blind of Kentucky, contact the chapter president who is nearest you, and he or she will get you started! If none of these NFBK chapters are near you, you can still join as an "At Large" member. To become an At Large member, contact our Kentucky State Affiliate President.
